In the future, employees may come to work in offices that are increasingly “smart,” using Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to help control interactivity and connectiveness to each other and allow them to be efficient in how to conduct the basics like videoconferences and workshops. Smart offices could help improve worker wellbeing by recognizing when an employee doesn’t sleep enough, or can control music selection and general ambience of a workspace to improve productivity. We may even one day see offices that go “screenless,” and instead use voice technology and invisible “screens” in place of a computer. A look at how the smart office will change the future of work.
